This month has had lots of good movie releases and I've been at the cinema heaps.
I thought it might be nice to do a sort of mini movie review on the movies I've seen and let you know what I thought about them.
NOAH
I went in to watch Noah not knowing what to expect, I know the biblical story very well from when I did Scripture in primary school and its always stuck with me, so I was wondering how well they would stick to it considering its a 'Hollywood' version of it.
Overall the movie was good, it kept me entertained but it was over dramatized and of course diverged from the original story quite a bit, so if your looking for a movie version of the original story, this isn't it. I do think the special effects were good, especially the Fallen Angels/Rock things. Russell Crowe was really good in the Role of Noah, I don't, personally, usually like his acting but I really enjoyed his performance in this film. Emma Watson was of course amazing as usual and I really like that she's branching out since Harry Potter, her acting is just getting better and better! (She always looks amazing as well, she's definitely one of my style icons). It's not personally the type of movie I would buy on DVD and re watch but I would recommend it if your into that kind of movie.
3.5 / 5 stars from me (and my friend).
DIVERGENT
Oh boy! I was super excited for this movie, I'd read the books and was super excited when I read the movie was on its way! The movie was not a let down in comparison to other book-film series, it actually stuck pretty well to the book! I loved the actors/actresses chosen although I do admit it was a bit weird seeing Shailene Woodley as Tris and Ansel Elgort as her brother when they play lovers in the movie 'The Fault in our Stars' which is coming out soon, but other than that the movie was definitely one I would recommend going to see, it has all the elements, romance, comedy, action, suspense & drama!
5/5 stars from me!
